Day 16
Third sightseeing day at Savannah, GA
We went to see some more houses. The first being the Davenport House. The furnishings in this house were not as extravegant as some of the other houses, but it is worth seeing for its architectual elements, especially the spiral staircase. It is also important, because this was the first house restored by the Historic Savannah Foundation which started the restoration movement which preserved this beautiful city.

We also visited the Juliette Gordon Low house of which I don't have any pictures. This is the house she grew up in. After marrying William Mackey Low, she moved into the house we toured the previous day.
We saw the Telfair Museum of Art which is located in the restored Telfair mansion. It has rooms with original furnishings and galleries with a variety of paintings and sculptures. It also contains the famous Bird Girl stature which is on the cover of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
