Gourmet Hot Dogs and Pizza? |
|
I visited Fort Rucker where I was stationed for Air Traffic Control school in the Army, back
in 1975.
It is the avaition training center for the Army.
They have built the U.S. Army Aviation Museum there which I wanted to see.
I could hardly recognize the fort.
It has changed so much since I was there.
They have an extensive collection, from World War I fixed-wing aircraft, and from the beginning of rotary-winged aircraft to today. |

| Enterprise, Alabama has a statue of a boll weavil in the middle of the street. It seems strange to celebrate an agricultural pest, but it turned out to be one of those blessings in disguise sort of things. The Boll Weevil destroyed the cotton industry which caused temporary hardship. This forced the local farmers to "re-invent" themselves and diversify into other crops such as peanuts, which in the long-term, brought economic prosperity to the region. |
